What's a good game for a work Christmas party?

The best work Christmas party game includes everyone, needs nobody to host it and fits around the meal and the dancing. A Christmas photo scavenger hunt does all three: colleagues join on their phones with a 6-digit code, complete festive challenges like "recreate a Christmas card photo with your team", and compete on a live leaderboard. With Mission Memories it's free for 5 people, £19.99 for up to 120 and £49.99 for up to 300.

Why use Mission Memories for your Christmas party?

Runs itself

Share the code at the start and the game carries on through dinner, speeches and the dance floor. Nobody has to give up their night to host it.

Mixes the teams

Challenges like "selfie with someone from another team in a Christmas hat" get people talking to colleagues they barely know.

Works for remote and hybrid teams

Anyone with the link can join from anywhere, so remote colleagues can play alongside the office party or at a virtual one.

One price, not per head

Free for 5 people, £4.99 for 40, £19.99 for 120 and £49.99 for 300. One price for the whole party.

Every photo from the night

Download all the photos and videos as one zip for the January all-hands or the company newsletter.

Private to your company

Add a password so only invited colleagues can join, and remove any photo someone isn't happy with.

How to run it at your Christmas party

Setup takes about ten minutes. This plan suits an evening party with a meal; for a lunch or an afternoon do, shorten it.

  1. 1

    A week or two before

Create the event, choose 12–20 festive challenges, add a password and put the join link in the party invite.

  2. 2

    On the tables

Print the QR code for each table, or put it on the screen during drinks.

  3. 3

    Arrival drinks

Announce the game and the prize. Icebreaker challenges work best while people are still mingling.

  4. 4

    Dinner and speeches

Table challenges, cracker hats and "catch the biggest laugh during the speeches".

  5. 5

    Before the dancing

Freeze the leaderboard, announce the winners and hand out prizes while everyone's still listening.

  6. 6

    In January

Download the photos for the all-hands deck or newsletter. Everyone also gets their own Event Wrapped.

Tips for a great Christmas party game

Christmas Parties: frequently asked questions

Do colleagues need to download an app?

No. Guests open your invite link, scan the QR code or enter the 6-digit code, and play straight from their phone's browser. They create a quick free account (name, email and password) so they can come back to their photos later. The free iOS and Android app is optional and adds the smoothest camera, reactions and notifications.

How many people can play?

Up to 300 on Host with the Most (£49.99). Smaller plans cover 10, 40 or 120 people. For more than 300, contact us.

Can remote employees join the Christmas party game?

Yes. Anyone with the link can join from anywhere, so remote colleagues can play alongside the office party. Add challenges they can do at home, like "your most festive mug".

Can people play in teams?

The leaderboard ranks individual players. For team play, give each table or team one phone and a team name as their player name.

How long should the game run?

Usually from arrival drinks until just before the dancing, around two to three hours. Close it while people are still gathered to hear the winners.

How do we pay?

Plans are a one-off purchase per event in the iOS or Android app, with an App Store or Google Play receipt you can expense.
